WEEK 8: Wednesday May 27

Good morning! The feedback from our class meeting yesterday was that students wanted a day to catch up with no new work. THANK YOU to everyone who came on for the meeting!

 

I have compiled a list of catch-up jobs for each subject.

If you have been feeling behind, choose a subject and work through the list 1-4 and you'll be all caught up!

If you want to catch up on Social Studies:

  • Have a look at Monday May 25 Work to get access to all the research questions and worksheets!

  • There are 5 research topics

  • Plus one Final Project to build an artifact from your culture!

If you want to catch up on MasterMinds:

  1. Listen to the end of the book (up to chapter 27)

  2. Complete the final assignment

    • Use these questions like a choice board, choose 3 in-a-row TIC-TAC-TOE style to answer and hand in​

WEEK 7: Wednesday May 20

Math:

  • Watch the video on today's math lesson!

  • Follow along with the sheets from your package for the notes and one practice sheet

  • Part 2 of the activity is try this game 1 or 2 times!

  • EVIDENCE: take a picture of the computer screen after you have completed a round!

Reading: 

  • Finish MasterMinds! Up to Chapter 27!

  • Do plot diagram (use May 19 Team Meeting for help)

  • If you're done- Try DreamScape again!

  • Your log in was sent to you individually in an email!

  • EVIDENCE: send me a picture of your progress!

Scavenger Hunt:

  • A for fun challenge- find the items on the list when you click the green button! Because it is rainy this is an indoor hunt!

  • If you want you could challenge your siblings to try too!

  • EVIDENCE: Send me a picture of everything in one picture!

  • I will draw a winner from the names of everyone who completes this and drop off an ice-cap at your house Thursday afternoon if you’re the winner!!

WEEK 6: Wednesday May 13

 

Please have a look at the earlier days this week if you have not got your work done!

ADST:

  • Mrs. Pearse has come up with another challenge for you

  • Have a look in your work package at the “Float Your Boat” challenge!

  • Complete the challenge to be entered to win a prize from the Spirit Den!

Writing:

  • Watch new video of Persuasive and Opinion writing!

  • Today you have a new topic to explore so you will need a new Pros and Cons T-chart from your work package

  • EVIDENCE: Send me a picture or type up your writing!

 

Read- Aloud:

  • Listen up to Chapter 25 on YouTube!

  • Choose 2/3 Questions on that chapter to answer

WEEK 5: Wednesday May 6

  • Make sure that you have chosen a culture from the list 

    • Choose from: Ancient China, Ancient Japan, Mongolia, Mesopotamia, Inca, Maori

  • Once you have chosen a culture… start researching!

  • Today you will do: Part 3 Research Questions

Workout: 

  • Give this a try!

  • See how many times you can do it!

  • EVIDENCE: Write it in your DPA log, or send me a sweaty selfie if you want!

WEEK 4: Wednesday April 29

If you have not done Monday or Tuesday of Week 4 please go back and complete them before moving on to today :)

Writing:

  • Watch the Youtube on OREO persuasive writing

  • Use the OREO Worksheet from your package

  • Be creative! Show high quality thought and defend your opinions!

  • IF YOU STILL HAVEN’T DONE YOUR LETTER TO YOURSELF… please do it! (see TUESDAY tab of the website for help)

  • EVIDENCE: Send a picture of your work!

Art:

  • Watch the YouTube video lesson and give it a try

  • Here is a picture of one example of the final product

  • You will need: paper, pencil, at least one marker/pencil crayon (but you are encouraged to use more), and glue or tape!

  • EVIDENCE: Send a picture of your finished work! I will put it up on the website!

Math: 

  • Log on to prodigy and see how you're doing for probability!

  • Email me if you need you log on information!

  • EVIDENCE: I get to see progress reports online- so you don't have to do anything but pay!

WEEK 3: Wednesday April 22

WEDNESDAY:

Writing:

  • To build on letter writing I have posted an intro to proper email writing (I promise that we are moving into a cool unit- I just need you to have the basics)

  • Watch the YouTube Video and complete the practice exercise

EVIDENCE: Send a typed copy of your answers OR a picture of your work on paper!

Math:

  • Watch probability review of last week and new concept

  • Do the questions at the end of the video!

Ketchup:

  • Work on some of the stuff you haven’t done yet!

  • ADST: Build something with wheels challenge (see at https://carsondiv12.wixsite.com/classwithmrsc/announcements)

  • Genius Hour: watch YouTube video and choose an at home goal!

  • Writing: Letter from last week!

  • Socials: Research questions (in yesterday’s email!)

  • Prodigy: Now has probability unit uploaded and will be good practice!
